LaStella 2008 Allegretto Release Newsletter
Salve,
As summer turns quickly into fall, work at the winery has reached a fevered pace. Harvest this year started on September 15th with Moscato grapes from the Black Sage Bench. So far six tons of those delicious little berries have been sorted, crushed, pressed and are fermenting away in a temperature controlled tank. You can follow harvest on our Facebook page, or on our 2011 Harvest report webpage.
The fantastic sunny clear weather we’ve had for the second part of the summer has meant that a vintage that in May seemed doomed, may turn out to be the best vintage many of us have EVER seen! There is still time to join us and participate in harvest, see below for details on this as well.
As our winemakers and vineyard workers work around the clock, it is time to release the 2008 Allegretto Pie Franco Merlot, a wine that for many of us here at the winery is the absolute favourite wine in our portfolio! For many of you this wine will be familiar, as will the story behind it. This is a single vineyard Merlot planted in the southern reaches of Osoyoos using ungrafted vines planted in deep silica sand. See below for more details on this release.
As always, we hope you’re faring well and we wish you all the best!
Ciao!
