Special announcement just in time for the weekend 🌟🌟🌟 we’re back in business: our tasting rooms are open again! Tastings are now by reservation only at lastella.ca/contact, so make sure you book at least 24 hours in advance 🗓

Tastings will be open from 11am-5pm, 7 days a week. And to ensure everyone’s safety, we’ll be hosting a limited number people in the space at once. The tastings are about 30-45 minutes, with a different variety of wines to taste each time. Free with a purchase, or $10 per person with all proceeds going to @canucksautism!

2019 LaStellina Rosato is very aromatic, fruity, fresh & charming! It’s a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Sangiovese Grosso. The Merlot and Cabernet Franc components were made via the Press Method while the Sangiovese grapes were bled (Saignée method). An important and noteworthy point is that the Merlot and Cabernet Franc portion of the blend was grown exclusively to make a rosé. That means we employ different canopy management techniques to focus on yielding low alcohol, high acid and bright fruit characteristics. It also means that we choose earlier picking dates to emphasize these characteristics and flavours.
Pairs perfectly with a sunny day, BBQ’s, Indian or Asian cuisine.

To successfully cross the finishing line, so many intricate parts of the puzzle need to come together on the same day, at the same place: the wine has been blended and lightly filtered, tasted approved, the empty glass, labels, corks, tin cap have arrived from all over the world, the team is in place despite the world being on hold, the bottling line has arrived, and staff is ready. The show can now begin like a symphony played by the orchestra. 23 688 bottles later, smiles and good mood are signing the day off, and Fortissimo 2018 is almost ready to swirl in our glass!

#winewednesday We decided to re-release some wine from our library: 2010 Allegretto Pie Franco Merlot in a 375 ml bottle. Extremely Limited! Only 20 bottles are available.
Alex, our Club Concierge, opened a bottle a few weeks ago, here is his tasting note:
«The rusticity of this wine is still in the foreground. Sour Cherry, stewed tomato, wild desert brush, a subtle gamy element, the tannins are supple, and the acidity is high. The cooler vintage of 2010 provides the structure to not only drink beautifully today (a 10-year-old wine), but this wine will be holding strong for the next couple of years.»
